Ryan is a Boulder-based Illustrator who works primarily in digital painting. With an interest and appreciation of the natural world, his work focuses on animals and their natural habitats, particularly those of prehistoric times (such as, but not exclusively, dinosaurs). He strives to showcase a different side to his subjects, highlighting unusual and/or unconventional behaviors and settings, which differ from the all-too common depictions and tropes of mainstream media. He hopes his works instill a greater appreciation for animals and the natural world, and inspires others to rethink how they view animals and their roles in this world, predator and prey alike.
