Art Practices
Racheal Bennett was born and raised in Denton, Texas. She currently resides in Denver, Colorado where she earned her Associate’s degree in graphic design from the Community College of Denver and is currently working toward her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in art practices and a minor in photography from the University of Colorado Denver. While pursuing her education, she has dedicated herself to refining and developing her artistic vision.
Racheal works with oil paints and watercolor, but also explores darkroom photography and sculpture. Her work is inspired by the intricacies of the human experience including mental health, sexuality, and the balance of life and death. She uses nature-based imagery to convey her ideas. She is inspired by renaissance paintings, scientific illustration and the surrealist movement.
Racheal has exhibited her work in the Glass Gallery at the University of Colorado Denver, the Emmanuel Gallery in Denver, Colorado, and the Auraria Center for Photography. She has work published in Nulla Journal in San Francisco, California and Ourglass in Denver, Colorado. She has worked as a teaching assistant at both the collegiate and high school levels, as well as a studio assistant for gallery-represented artists and the Auraria Center for Photography.
