Megan Lorraine Hatak

Art Practices

Megan Hatak is a multidisciplinary artist who builds stories in figurative oil paintings by incorporating color, texture, and dreamlike elements. Her practice has developed through social experience and refinement of technical skills. Hatak studies love, nostalgia, dreams, and human relationships in her work. She has explored these ideas by developing proficiency in foundry, casting, wood and metal studios, and drawing and painting. Hatak investigates how female queer experience relies on cultural defiance and comfortability with oneself. Hatak has earned a BFA in Arts Practices at the University of Colorado Denver. She completed a summer course of study at the Burren College of Art, Ireland, in 2025, which fostered her connection to nature, and facilitated an interest in depicting self-perception through color and texture. Her work has been exhibited at Pirate Contemporary Art, Emmanuel Art Gallery, University of Colorado Experience Gallery, and the Burren College of Art Open Studio.
