Beia Smith-Shaw believes design is a beat… a rhythm that defines our cultures’ experiences, trends, and communication. As a drummer and vocalist-turned-designer, Beia seeks to employ mechanisms of music within her work, curating projects that aim to reach all senses and audiences. With passions for clean design, minimalism, color-coordination, and a good typeface, Beia has worked on design projects ranging from album covers to logos and branding projects, website design, print collateral, typesetting and layout, collage, and most recently, type design!
Regardless of the project, she feels a graphic designer’s purpose lies in their ability to connect aspects of our physical world through digital experiences, one beat at a time…
