Anneliese Jeanette Anthamatten

Anneliese Anthamatten was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She moved to Colorado in 2008. She has been interested in art from a very young age and has taken many art classes throughout her life. She works primarily with watercolor, gouache, and ink and is drawn to the fluid nature of these mediums. Recently, she has been branching out to digital art. She is graduates from the University of Colorado Denver with a BFA in Spring of 2025. Much of her work is driven by the depth and dynamic nature of emotions. Her art is a means of personal expression and a tool to understand herself as well and others. She works in loose visible watercolor brushstrokes and appreciates the translucent nature of the medium. A common characteristic in much of her work is sharper, darker ink or gouache details added upon a dried watercolor painting. With her art Anneliese strives to evoke thoughts, emotions, and their relationship to world around us.
