Transmedia Sculpture

Erik Pendergraft was born and raised in Souderton, Pennsylvania. He has been living and working in Denver, Colorado since 2010. Erik’s early creative practice was derived from skateboarding, performing in hardcore metal bands, Saturday Night Live, and sitting through church services. His inspiration comes from traveling, meeting new people, and looking up whenever possible. He is a sculptor, painter, and performance artist who is primarily self-taught. While attending the University of Colorado Denver his education has included metal casting, film, painting, and study abroad in Ireland. His experience with digital and traditional studio processes have honed Erik’s technical prowess and conceptual approaches ensuring complex, well-crafted works. His work has been selected for numerous juried shows by Michael Paglia of the Westword, Mai Wyn of Mai Wyn Fine Art, and Cortney Lane Stell of Black Cube. He has participated in multiple group exhibitions at Pirate: Contemporary Art, the Emmanuel Gallery, and the McNichols Building, all located in Denver. His work has been mentioned in Westword magazine and he was awarded the Wolf Foundation Visual Arts Scholarship.
