Leya Zerihun Admasu is an Ethiopian American cultural pattern and abstract artist based in Denver, Colorado. She primarily focuses on capturing the impacts of cultural differences and representational ideas of diversity by layering her personal, social, and historical experiences into her works. Leya is currently pursuing her BFA degree in Art Practice focusing on painting and drawing at the University of Colorado Denver. Her works have been on display since 2017, including GMV Art Studios, Redline Contemporary Art Center, Black Art Festival, Global Art Festival, and several Immigrant Artisans. She has also won multiple Scholastic and written awards leading to dream scholarship, COSI, student success Awards, and more. Leya looks forward to communicating through her art as well as sharing her cultural and historical traditions.
